Horrible Bosses: For the Ratracer in You

I had an opportunity to watch this hilarious movie the other day and simply put (SPOILER ALERT!), it turned out to be a happy ending for 3 men who hated their bosses. More than exaggerating the I-wish-my-boss-is-dead idea, it showed bits and pieces of what is truly happening now. To which character can you relate?
(character names courtesy of this Wiki article)

a. Nick
do you feel unappreciated?
do you work so hard waiting for that promotion to be given to you yet it's given to someone else who you feel doesn't deserve it?
did you miss important events in your life because of work?
are your mistakes blown out of proportion and your accomplishments belittled?

b. Dale
do you feel harassed, used, manipulated?
do you feel that work or being employed is the only option?

c. Kurt
do you feel injustice in your workplace?
do you wish that management runs your company differently?
do you have concern for your workmates but your boss doesn't?

I'm sure that at one point in our careers, we felt this way. Even though we literally didn't want to kill our bosses, we wish there was some way out of our current situation at work. And going back to the power of choice, there is. The recession is not an excuse to cling to our jobs as if there is no other option. Because there really are other options. Again, I don't hate employment. It's a great feeling to be able to love what we do and to do best at work. I would rather deal with the best employees than the mediocre ones who aren't willing to follow a track for success. My point is, instead of a threat, the recession should be a motivator for us to work on what we have and start building on a Plan B.
