It is only in the last few months that social networking sites like Facebook is picking up steam here in the Philippines as a venue for entrepreneurs to tap new markets. In our economic history, this may be labeled as part of the Information Age. So, you may be surprised to know that we are soon to enter a new period in our history called the SYSTEMS AGE. As scientist Joseph J. Salvo presents in his blog, "The Information Age is Over", a period of history can be characterized by the dominant technology that separates the leaders from the followers. Today is no exception. We entered the information age because of the need to improve repetitive processes from the industrial age when everything became automated. Money flowed towards the entrepreneurs who had the information that can be used as a tool to analyze different sets of data. The Information Age shaped a world focused on planning, forecasting and predictability. Now that we have an abundant flow of information (even an overload in most cases), information has become cheaper or easier to get. The question is, what do we do with the information that we have? This is where SYSTEMS come in. To quote,
"Systems Age" may just be a label for most of us but valuable information may already be taken from this. For us individuals who want to own a business to be financially free, it's not enough to know what kind of business to go into. Learning from the success of a solid franchise system called McDonalds, the entrepreneurs who succeed AND stay are the ones who know how to use existing systems, innovate in the process and create new systems altogether. The Create Abundance International Network is an example of a living, breathing system that continues to adapt to the needs of a new generation of entrepreneurs. Being part of it allows me to be creative with existing systems, sticking to the ones that work and having a say on those that are obsolete. If you still think that you can succeed just because you KNOW something, think again. What you know may just be enough to get you started but won't stay with you to the finish line. If you believe in the power of systems, we look forward to seeing you in the Core Team, we look forward to having more people take part in our mission, vision and having our dream of creating first-world nations realized. Rather than strive for the impossible goal of perfect predictability, the "Systems Age" paradigm accepts the inevitable uncertainty in the world and quickly responds to it. Since readily available computing power continues to increase at an exponential rate, while the cost of computation continues to plummet, those that fail to incorporate the value of "Systems Thinking" into their products, services and future vision will soon be at a great technological disadvantage.
