Last Tuesday, my mom was confined to the hospital because of Diabetes. Her blood sugar registered a whopping 530! For those who have no idea on what this means, this level of sugar in your blood can already lead to comatose. As of press time, she's now back in her residence, recovering and stabilizing normal blood sugar levels. For this post, I would like to share my realizations during this event.
Aside from the given that we should not abuse ourselves in terms of diet, I realized that having a sick family member impacts us emotionally and financially. Diabetes is a LIFETIME disease. It can't be treated nor avoided. Once it's there, you just have to deal with it and exercise discipline in all aspects of your life- from diet to exercise to managing stress. See, I am unemployed. and I choose to stay in this bracket forever. I choose to not have a boss or an employer. I'm currently in-charge of my schedule. Yes, I have time and still working on having more money.
Being in business allows me to control my schedule and dictate how much I want to earn. Admittedly, I still haven't reached my ideal income because I haven't maximized what my business has to offer. It's very exciting to work everyday knowing that my activities are getting me closer to having BOTH time and money. In your job, when you go up the ranks or the corporate ladder, more income is guaranteed but time? I don't think so. It gives me goosebumps thinking of what the future has in store. What would you do with a passive income of 100,000/month? Or kahit P50,000 extra lang? It would translate to a very generous contribution to your family if you have this excess income right? What if you earn more?
Because I'm willing to work my ass off and undergo the growth pains required to get there, the future is defnitely brighter than the sun. =)
