Even though we try hard to verbally assert the shoulds, musts and need to do, people are greatly influenced by what they see. The natural inclination for us is to follow what we see is being done by others especially the people that we respect and admire. This is an ideal scenario though. We are very fortunate if we are under the influence of the people who have proven themselves and are continuing to move up in their fields of expertise. In most instances however, we may not even be aware that we are allowing ourselves to be influenced negatively by the people around us.For an employee like me who spends 9-10 hours of my time with colleagues, I have become comfortable with the habits of whom else but the employed? This entry (or the whole blog for that matter) was not created to mock the workforce. I would just like to point out most employees' lack of sense of urgency in creating wealth. Most of the employees I know are just getting by and making ends meet month after month. There really is no long-term escape strategy. It's not that they don't want to be wealthy (believe me, they do) but they don't subject themselves to uncomfortable situations that are required to get to the desirable level of wealth. The level of energy entailed by the deep desire to succeed financially is what's missing. Now, ask yourself, "Who am I modeling?"
